South Indian beauty Samantha Ruth Prabhu is a fitness freak and we all know that quite very well. According to recent reports, the Eega actress is now learning weapon-based, ancient martial art form Silambam. Recently, the Janatha Garage star shared a video on Instagram in which she’s seen wielding the stick and performing some steps of Silambam gracefully. The actress captioned the post, “Because I like a challenge ? #newhobby #silambam . Can't wait to get better at this . #love #takeupsomethingnew”.

A source close to Samantha has revealed, “Workouts can get boring if they are repetitive, so she took up the martial art form to try something new”. But, is it really just a new hobby? Or may be Samantha is prepping up for her any of her upcoming movies. Well, gossip mills are churning the rumours that the Theri actress will be seen performing Silambam in Atlee Kumar’s ‘Vijay 61’.

However, a source close to the unit quashed the rumours saying that Samantha is yet to begin the project. “No, she’s not learning Silambam for Vijay 61. It’s a rumour. She is yet to start shooting for the project”, revealed the source.

On a related note, Samantha has Sukumar’s period love story starring  Ram Charan as the male lead, ‘Aneethi Kathaigal’ (an episodic thriller under filmmaker Thiagarajan Kumararaja), Vishal’s ‘Irumbu Thirai’ and Nag Ashwin’s Mahanati (biopic on legendary actor Savitri) in her kitty as of now.
