Thulasi Nair watched her mother’s films to prepare for Kadal’s role

Debutante Thulasi Nair, who got her big break in the South film industry in none other than much-acclaimed director Mani Ratnam’s upcoming releaseKadal,said she has learned the art of acting by watching her mother and yesteryear superstar Radha’s film again and again. Thulasi, who has been paired with another newcomer and son of Tamil actor Karthik, Gautham Karthik, in the film said she watched her mother’s blockbusterAlaigal Oivathillaiat least 10 times and many other movies repeatedly after signingKadal.

The starlet was also in awe of the onscreen chemistry betweenAlaigal Oivathillai’slead pair Radha and Karthik. Thulasi and Gautham were introduced to the media in Chennai yesterday by Mani Ratnam himself at an event which was hosted by Arjun. Other stars of the film like Arvind Samy, Charuhaasan and Suhasini as well as music composer A R Rahman were also present there. The young actress has already signed another film,Yaan,opposite Jiiva which will be directed by noted cameraman Ravi K. Chandran.
