Amitabh Bachchan posted on his Facebook page, “And today with the greats of Southern India .. all of them sons of The Greats in the early years of my career. What a privilege for me to be in the same frame .. A legacy of the past in my present today .. honoured and humbled by the respect they all give me ..” (sic)

The actor even took to twitter and posted, “With the greats of the Southern film Industry.. privileged honoured. Their Father’s Icons of my early years.” (sic)

Amitabh, who posts anecdotes frequently on his personal blog, shared his experience working with some of the biggest names in the Southern film industry. He said, “There is a certain respect and cultural heritage in them all. The Industry itself has been one that has functioned with utmost professionalism and discipline. Their modes of management and the contents of their creativity have always been ahead of the Industry in Mumbai. Though now the gap is slowly getting closed and the content and ethics of the two Industries has been on par almost.”

"Regional cinema has elevated the local talents to immense heights and needs to be lauded for its enterprising efforts. Marathi cinema for example is coming out with some of the most prolific content in recent times. The artistry of their work, their story telling, their performances have all been exemplary," he added.

Big B has also had a long association with the southern film industry. It is a known fact that Rajnikanth and Big B are very close friends. The two have also shared screen space in ‘Hum’.

Shifting focus to the movie front, Amitabh has two releases lined up this year, Shoojit Sircar’s ‘Piku’ and Bejoy Nambiar’s ‘Wazir’.
