    Veteran cinematographer and director Aloysius Vincent dies at 88

    This year has not been very good for Telugu film industry. After losing eminent filmmakers like V.B. Rajendra Prasad and Ramanaidu, Tollywood plunged into grief at the demise of yet another veteran director. Legendary cinematographer and director Aloysius Vincent breathed his last at a private hospital in Chennai after a prolonged illness. He was 88.

    Vincent started his career in 1953 as a guest cinematographer for Telugu film Chandi Rani and rose to fame with Braduru Theruku. He has contributed in various blockbusters like Annamayya,Bobbili Simham,Gharana Mogudu, Soggadu, Nari Nari Naduma Murari, Adavi Ramudu,Secretary, Major Chandrakanth, Allari Priyudu, Bhaktha Prahlada, etc. 

    After making a mark in the world of cinematography, Vincent turned into direction. Known to the film fraternity as Vincent Master, Aloysius Vincent has directed around 30 movies. 

    He made his directorial debut with Malayalam film Bhargavee Nilayam. Mammootty-starrer Kochuthemmadi was reportedly the last directorial venture by him. He is survived by wife Margret, two sons and two daughters. Desimartini extends its sincere condolences to the bereaved family.
