Julayi is an acid test for three people connected with it, lu Arjun, Ileana and Trivikram the director, who have not had a single hit in recent times. Needless to say, the trio have gotten all out to make sure this one is a masala potboiler to the core. So if one is looking for something remotely meaningful and logical, this one is not made for you. For those looking for nothing more than songs, cheap comedy and glamor, Julayi is a complete paisa vasool.
Allu Arjun foils villain Sonu Sood's plans of robing a bank and gets him arrested, He then moves to Hyderabad, falls in love with Ileana, and gears up to fight with Sonu, who is now out of jail and overflowing with vengeance. With a story line that has nothing new to offer, the film relies heavily on the treatment which mercifully makes for a decent viewing while the film lasts.
Allu Arjun is the centre of the movie, he performs, emotes, dances, imitates legends and woos the girl, in short, he does pretty much that he has always done. Ileana seems content being the galm quotient and fits the bill to the T. Sonu Sood reprises his bad man act, something he by now can do in his sleep too perhaps.
After acheiving success one wishes Stars like Arjun diversify, push boundaries and break new ground. Julayi is certainly not that attempt. Till something like that happens, whistle hoot and forget the movie once out of the hall.
