The bad lands of NCR.

Verdict - A must for the discerning viewer.
Delhi and it's hinterland ( NCR) is the epicenter of many movies released in recent times. Here the focus is on Gurgaon aka Guru Gram.
Vast acres of land have been aquired by the state to build a Shanghai type infra and a 'smart city'.The erstwhile land owners have been compensated for in crores of rupees. What could these owners do with the money? Become builders and lead a luxurious life in their opulant mansions. But what about their dysfunctional families? Intra family disputes over property, greed and disintegration has come to the fore. What next?
One such patriarchal head Kehri Singh( Pankaj Tripathi) is spoilt for riches from land acquisition proceeds. His wife(Shalini Vatsa) is treated like a doormat. His elder son Nikki( Akshay Oberoi) is indebted to book makers on losses suffered in cricket matches. How does he raise money to discharge the same? Go see for your self.
What's so engaging about this intra family crime thriller? Direction ( Shankar Raman) is perfect. He should go miles. The presentation is as real as real can be.Performances by all characters is top, despite none being a 'star'.It beats the myth that only stars can carry a film.( Recent Tubelight of Salman and Jab Harry Met Sejal of SRK proves the point). In contrast this small budget movie is miles ahead. The spoken words are just words( no full sentences) and the scenes are also short, but as a whole they are powerful.Being in the Haryanvi language, they are more authentic.
Despite being a ruthless patriarch ,the Karta of the family has higher regards for his adoptive -well read daughter Preeti( Ragini Khanna) in comparison to his good for nothing sons.An encouraging sign in the rural set up where daughters are never made to born.
The climax reminds one of Vaastav. Not to be revealed in this review.
The only negative one could notice was the positioning of the present with the past scenes. For a layman it becomes confusing.
All in all a not to be missed thriller .
