This film came to me at the right time - godsend (yes, a rather dramatic start to a review of a 100% non dramatic movie)! See why I needed it?!

So, quickly, the film is a Goa version of Khosla Ka Ghosla. A couple in their late 30s, early 40s and their adopted Tibetian daughter: all going through some form of crisis. The husband, Savio, works in marketing for an underwear company. Feels unaccomplished and decides to start his own entrepreneurial venture of edible underwear for all the kinkies out there! The wife, Anne, runs a Goan restaurant and is kicked out of church choir because she is too old! And then Ruth, the adopted Tibetian daughter, going through am identity crisis of her own.

The film had me from the start:

Savio: Anne how come we haven't done it on a automatic washing machine?
Anne: Because ours is semi-automatic. Go to sleep.

They do it missionary style and Anne gets pregnant!

PVR Rare isn't a release large enough for Love, Wrinkle-Free, which though made for a small target audience, would most definitely attract the masses. The acting is superb, the script amazing, and the background score, a mix of Portugese, Hindi, Tibetian was a refreshing change from the radio.

The film is shot in Goa, in the monsoon and it was difficult to sit in front of my laptop writing this review without checking ticket prices on expedia. It's a film you can watch alone (I did!), with friends, family or lovers. It's funny, it's light, and its funkily bizarre. I know it's playing in a few select theaters, but you want to go out of your way to watch this one.view less
