One of the drawbacks of watching first day first show these days is that I dont get to enjoy a movie as a collective viewing exercise with a full house completely involved in the film. Today was my lucky day because the house was almost full and the film was a complete crowd pleaser.

Murder 2 has nothing to do with the earlier Murder and has only two things common. Like the earlier one this one is also a remake (of a Korean film The Chaser) and it stars Emraan Hashmi. A serial killer is killing prostitutes in Goa. Emraan Hashmi an ex-cop is hired by a pimp to find the killer. And the chase begins. The only person who towers over everybody in this film is Prashant Narayanan. His first major role was in Chhal (2002). Finally after 9 years he has got a role that may introduce him to a larger audience. This film will do to him what Dushman did to Ashutosh Rana. As Pandey he is the only one who makes the film watchable and Raju Singhs background score compliments him perfectly in becoming a womans worst nightmare. I am sure many women in the theatre will dream of Pandey tonight but not in a good way.

If you have been an audience of Vishesh films let me tell you this one is their most crowd pleasing entertainer in a long time. Emraan Hashmi who has mastered the art of doing roles of a troubled soul goes through it one more time. He is one of the few Hindi film heroes who while making love to his heroine gives every average looking guy the confidence that he can also do it. The taaliyan on his entry was proof. The screenplay is filled with speed breakers and I waited only for Prashant Narayanan to be on screen, only he made the film work for me otherwise it was quite a bore. Jacqueline looked hot but will leave the audience lusting for more. Remove bra, wear bra is what her role is and she performs it with ease.

Final few words: Murder 2 is best watched for the talent called Prashant Naryanan & to have a collective viewing experience filled with sighs & screams.
