Chiclet, the central character in the film, is made motherless by a hunter, while the father is taken captive. How Chiclet searches the Dad and reunites is the rest of the film.
The problem with the film is not execution in terms of animation, but in terms of story telling. The story, laced with morals of bad a deed hunting is and how mean people do it, is told rather too simply. There is no flourish in the manner the story unfolds, nor in the caharacterizations. The actors who voice these characters are either uninspiring, or over the top. Direction leaves a lot to be desired.
The animation however, is good. Though not in the league of a Kung Fu Panda 2, the visuals are appealing and pleasing to the eye.
How far can an Indian animation flick lure our kids from pretty obviously adult shiela ki jawani and the ilk, is debatable, considering the quality (or the lack of it) of animation films today. This film yet again prooves that we have a very long way to go.view less
