If Clash of the Titans had a phuski Kraken we have yet another phuski here called Kronos. In fact in one of the scenes someone tells Perseus oh you are Perseus. Release the Kraken and all that I felt like it was an inside joke mocking the 1st one in the series.

Whats it about? Perseus (Sam Worthington) the half god half human has settled into a life of an ordinary fisherman with his son. Enters his father Zeus (Liam Neeson) telling him Beta bhagwan logon ki lagne wali hai, Titans will attack and we will lose our immortality. A moment later Zeus is captured by his brother Hades (Ralph Fiennes) and Ares (Edgar Ramirez) so Perseus has to go on another adventure to save his father and the universe.

How is it? Timepass

My Take Director Jonathan Liebesmans clear vision in this one is to provide some good set pieces and there are at least 3 good ones in there. One is an action sequence with a creature called Chimera (two faced with a serpent on its tail). Another sequence featuring the creature called Cyclops (30 foot monster with one eye) is fun. There is also a part where Perseus goes in search of his father and has to encounter a labyrinth that plays trick with your mind. It reminded me of Hatimtai and images of Jeetendra and Satish Shah flashed in my mind. The last creature Kronos though high on effects doesnt lead to a grand finale leaving the viewer asking for more. If you remember what happened with Kraken in Clash of the Titans then expect the same with Kronos. Sam Worthington acts like his character, completely disinterested in the adventure and looks like he was forced to go on one. Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Bill Nighy looked like they were having fun with their roles. The big waste was Edgar Ramirez (Go watch him in Carlos. he is brilliant in it). He doesnt get much to do and remains on the sidelines most of the time.

Final few words The Wrath is one up on the Clash but dont expect an adrenaline rush.

Perseus kills a minotaur, walls break and stones fall on your face in all 3D glory, and you yawn. This pretty much the entire spectrum of emotions that Wrath of the Titans manages to stir in you.

A sequel to the equally insipid Clash of the titans, this film has Perseus out to save his father Zeus from Kronas, the giant beast made of fire sleeping in Tartarus, A few other funnily named gods with funny expressions abound the screen along with an impressive array of CGI monsters like minotaurs, cyclops and Kronas himself.

The film is made to enthrall in 3D, with enough effects to mandate utilizing the technology at the cost of a dark looking film. The movie has amazing fight sequences, particularly the one with the cyclops. With carefully distributed visual effects that are neither too many nor too less, the film visually is a treat.

Yet, all of it comes to a naught since the storyline is banal lacking in any kind of depth. Added to it are uninspired performances by the entire cast who anyways could have been easily replaced by CGI characters (and perhaps those would have had better expressions).

Lack of a story line should not however be a complaint since one normally doesnt expect any from a film of this genre. Go with least expectations, and Wrath of the Titans will leave you with money well spent on the 3D. Expect anything more than visual gimmickry and you might end up feeling left high and dry. view less

The Titans fight it out and yet again without purpose. Wrath Of The Titans, like it's predecessor Clash Of The Titans has a lot of style but really not much substance.

The film tells the story of Demi-god Perseus, the son of the almighty Zeus who must save his father from the clutches of his evil uncle Hades or else all existence must cease. Well I say bring on the apocalypse because only then can we saved from such mindless drivel. The film not only boasts of an unimaginative plot but also an inane screenplay that takes the help of cheesy dialogues and boring characters. Percy Jackson And The Olympians:The Lightening Thief had more marrow than this mega budget excuse of a film.

Director Jonathan Liebesman does not have much of a filmography to show for except for the superb horror flick Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Wrath Of The Titans wouldn't be doing him any favors. Having said that, the film really boasts of some fantastic 3-D scenes but they are few and far between. The editing work is the tops and technically the film is sound. The cast throws up such names as Ralf Fienes, Liam Neeson and Sam Worthington but a poor plot kills much of their fun as it does ours.

Do I recommend it? Well if you absolutely love action films and must watch them at all costs, do go for it. At the best, it's a one time watch. As for me, I'd rather watch 300 on TV any day.

The immediate fallout of Avatars phenomenal success was a bunch of hastily post-converted 3D movies desperately wanting to drape themselves in the same flag as a ruse to trick people into parting with their money. One of the chief profiteers from that early trend was 2010s chaotic fantasy epic, Clash of the Titans, still regarded in many circles as perhaps one of the worst examples of post-conversion 3D. The original was a remake of the 1981 Clash of the Titans and while this is a direct sequel to the remake, the plot or script shows little affection for the events of the past beyond hammering home certain broad outlines. You could easily watch Wrath of the Titans without having watched its predecessor.

The plot takes place roughly a decade after the events of the original film. Perseus (Sam Worthington), a hero after his defeat of the Kraken, now lives alone by the sea as a fisherman and a single parent raising his son (For those of you who havent watched the original, Perseus is a Demi-God, the bastard son of Zeus). When Zeus (Liam Nesson) turns up at his doorstep and asks for Perseuss help in containing the Titan, Kronos from escaping from the prison, Tartarus, in the Underworld, Perseus refuses. However with the walls of Tartarus crumbling, the war is brought to Perseuss doorstep and with the Gods weakening, the only way for Perseus to protect his son and the fate of mankind (in that order) is to take the fight to Hades (Ralph Fiennes) & Ares (Edgar Ramirez), Zeuss traitorous brother and son respectively. Before doing so he seeks a mythical weapon that can stop Kronos and the person who made it, Hephaestus (Bill Nighy) for which he enlists the help of another Demi-God, Agenor (Toby Kebell), the son of Poseidon (Danny Houston). Also thrown into the mix is Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike) who joins the group in their attempt to save the world. So any guesses what will happen? Anyone want a part three?

Great care has been taken with the production side of things, right from the effects to the sets and locations, something I didnt find lacking in the first part either. The 3D is a vast improvement over the previous film despite, this one being post-converted too. The creature effects and battles though well done, lack a certain zing, the battles from the original had, the battle with the scorpions or the hunt in medusas lair in the original had more cohesion & excitement than the battles in this one.

When there are no fights occurring onscreen, the script is busy padding the running length with laboured exposition sequences, where obvious plot points are repeated again an again in clichd dialogues. I have to say there is a nice attempt at fleshing out complex relationships but the unintentionally hilarious dialogue kills any chance the initiative has.

There are loads of acting heavy-weights, both young and old, whose talents are wasted more or less. Liam Nesson and Ralph Fiennes have surely seen better days but so have relative newcomers Toby Kebell & Edgar Ramirez in far meatier roles. Not to say they dont try hard enough to overcome the limitations of the drab script.

Wrath of the Titans seems like a perfect companion to its less-than-stellar predecessor. Its very strictly mediocre at best, despite some excellent technical standards, surely not an Olympian effort in this time and age. If only it had a script worthwhile this would have been a rousing adventure movie worth its weight in gold. view less

So, after defeating the Kraken and getting the gods and the people to hug and make up, Perseus is living the low life as a fisherman. He's got a cute little kid and everything is going just fine (except that his wife is dead, conveniently providing scope for another little romance for this movie) till he get's a visit from daddy dearest, Zeus who tells him that the gods are losing their power and the walls of the underworld prison of Tartarus are breaking. Perseus tells him to get lost, so Zeus, his brother Poseidon and his full god son Ares go down to the underworld to offer help to Hades in rebuilding the walls of the prison. But when he gets there he releases that Hades and Ares have gotten together in an evil scheme to release Kronos from his prison and basically, do the gods in.

Meanwhile, a Chimera attacks Perseuss village and he releases that to save his son's life he has to be a part of this battle.

How is the movie? Actually, it's pretty damn good (on the whole). I think the story was well thought of; at least the everything ads up. Like how Perseus, in keeping up with his character, doesn't want to fight but his son's safety pushes him to do it. And why the gods (who are supposed to immortal for crying out loud) keep dying.

But here's what I don't get wasn't Perseus supposed to be all 'I hate the gods and don't want anything to do with Zeus'? And now, out of the blue, Zeus has become daddy dearest and he's all for saving him form the clutches of his evil uncle and brother (I don't think even Sam Worthington buys that).
And don't even get me started on Andromeda! The only thing that this apparent 'warrior queen' did in the entire movie is look lost and pretty. I mean, COME ON! When you think warrior queen the first thing that comes to you is some Xena The Warrior Princess kind of a chick who is going to kick some butt. But what you get is Rosamund Pike, who doesnt even lift a full weight sword in the entire movie! Hell, she went throughout he entire firkin battle without a scratch or even a smudge! So not cool!

There's also the fact that the gods just don't feel like gods! Okay, there are a few parts, like when Ares is punching the hell out of Zeus and when Zeus and Hades and fighting Kronos together (and that was when they didn't even have their full power) but seriously... Rowan Atkinson in Johnny English seems more superhuman that these 'gods'!

But on the good side Im in love with Toby Kebbell who plays Agenor, the demigod son of Poseidon. He was one of the subtly cool guys, and quite frankly funny in a twisted sarcastic way. There was an adequate does of humour in the movie that worked pretty well.
And oh the graphics! They definitely made up for the horrible 3D of Clash of the Titans and then some more.
And well, we had Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Bill Nighy all in one place. I rest my case!

So is Wrath of the Titans worth a trip to the theatre? Id say get your lazy behind off the couch and go get yourself some 3D action!
