“Amit Sahni Ki List is nothing but a colossal bore-fest. Despite a few chuckles here and there, this film did not tick any boxes in our watch list. Even Vir Das' fans will be disappointed. ”

This is not a good movie. The characters are unlikeable and overdone, the plot is threadbare, the set pieces are obvious, the acting, apart from Vir Das', is lifeless and the chemistry between the characters is forced. This movie is trying too hard from the word go and unfortunately it doesn't disguise that fact well. My already low expectations were completely thrashed by this snooze-fest. This movie starts at rock bottom and begins digging deeper from then on.
Vir das plays Amit Sahni, an investment banker (and he's "bloody good at it"), who's got it all figured out in life. A good job, a condo and an '8 cylinder' BMW diesel (seriously). He's generally got it all, except for one thing, the ideal woman. He has a plan though. A list, consisting of all the traits a girl must have to be perfect. Any girl who meets checks all the boxes on this list is his ideal woman, and he will ask her to marry him. Obviously, no girl can match the items on his neurotic list, so his mom (Natasha Rastogi, absolutely annoying), sets him up on a date with Mala (Vega Tamotia). She happens to be the complete opposite of anything on his list, but despite this, Amit falls in love with her (BECAUSE WHO SAW THIS COMING!?). They get engaged, and everything seems to be going perfectly. That is until, he meets Devika (Anindata Nayar, lifeless and dull). Who should he choose? The girl he's in love with? Or the robot who matches his list perfectly?
Theres absolutely no reason to watch this movie. The acting is dull, the jokes are not funny, there's no chemistry between the actors (any of them), and Kavi Shastri as Amit's best friend is the most overacted character imaginable. The songs also seem out of place in the movie. If you have a tooth that needs to be extracted, go do that, it'll be more fun that watching this stupid movie. I'll end this with a piece of advice to Vir Das - make up with Imran Khan and do a sequel to Delhi Belly!
