One more film on woman empowerment where in the last scene Swara Bhaskar says that whether it is a call girl or a wife her no means no, a rural version of Pink so to say. Swara Bhaskar is a stage dancer in Arrah and merrily carries on her job with buddy Pankaj Tripathi till the roving eye of the local vice chancellor Sanjay Mishra falls on her. In one of the functions he is drunk and in full view of the audience he molests Swara on the stage.Swara in anger slaps him in retaliation. Hardly repentant or remorseful he continues to lust after Swara and keeps harassing her while she resents his advances. He then gets her involved in a false case of being involved flesh trade Due to these developments she leaves Bihar and comes to Delhi. Here she gets a chance to sing in a small time recording studio and
becomes popular with Bihari dialect songs. The VC however catches up with her and decides to set up legal proceedings against her but Swara compromises agreeing to stay as his mistress. In the climax Swara has her vengeance when she publicly exposes the VC by screening the video of his public misbehaviour with her.
The film is first rate with some excellent direction. Swara Bhaskara lives in her role and brings out the nuances of her character very well. One of her better performances. As her buddy Pankaj Tripathi is good as usual. He is one of our better actors. A realistic performance comes from Sanjay Mishra who brings to life the lecherous and lustful chacter as only he can.
