Disclaimer : The box office number indicates the approximate lifetime earnings of a film in India. Although it has been collated by extensive secondary research/ resources, we don’t guarantee its accuracy and assume no liability or responsibility for any errors or omissions. However it is sufficiently indicative but not exact figures of the box office performance of a film since release.
Some said it was The girl on the bridge, some said it was Angel A. Well, its actually a rehash of films like Bucket List, Dasvidaniya and their likes. The difference is that the lead actors here meet at their first attempt to commit suicide which leads to almost five more attempts till they realize they need to slow down. They decide to do their own 'things to do before you die' routine before they give up on life only to fall in love with each other.
With a stupid tag line that reads "all the greatest love stories are between strangers." (Are we all not strangers before we fall in love?) This film is an attempt to add another great love story to the collection. The story is written by the directors wife. So, we could assume that he was blinded by love but the screenplay by Advaita Kala & Siddharth Anand tests your patience so much that by the end of the film you will start getting suicidal tendencies and most probably will be tearing your hair out. Songs are forced into the narrative and sometimes almost back to back. The music purely caters to the tweens. I guess post interval even they would get bored. Ranbir & Priyanka spend half of the film in fulfilling each others wishes. Wish the makers would have fulfilled our wish for a good film.
The film is a showcase to display Ranbir & Priyanka and if not for them this film would have been a torture. Ranbir sails through a badly written character & Priyanka Chopra oozes an infectious energy in her character. Love the way she says her lines. There is an extra spark in the way she delivers it. After making 3 films with Yash Raj, Siddharth Anand moves out of the banner to direct a film which was completely their territory. I wonder why? And this is Sajid Nadiadwala's first film which is unlike the films he has made so far. Jaanemann comes a close second. He should go back to producing his Hey Babys & Housefuls. It is a sin to take two of best actors of recent times and make a film like this.
Final few words: If you are tween, teen or a fan of Ranbir or Priyanka this film is specially designed for you with the formula of stars, great locations, song & dance which the makers call a film but I call it trash.
