“Bad direction and an 'all over the place' screenplay is somewhat saved by Pulkit Samrat's brilliant acting and dialogues that crack you up. A one time watch!”

If Band Baja Baaraat (BBB) revolutionized weddings in India like never before, Bittoo Boss (BB) coming from the makers of the former only attempts to carry forward the legacy and capitalize on its success. The film is no way close to BBB and in fact is a disappointing follow up to the former.

Revolving around an aspiring filmmaker/videographer Bittoo, a rage in the wedding scenario in a small town called Anandpur, Punjab; BB is a perfect mash up of love and humor however as a film it fails to entertain and inspire. Although Bittoo aspires to be a filmmaker, he also takes pride in shooting weddings. Before you know it, he falls for a rich girl named Mrinalini. She likes him too but refrains from falling for him as he is not at par with her social status. The rest of the plot follows through Bittoos unpropitious shortcut and how he wins his girl back.

Let me highlight reasons why do I think this film is disappointing and uninspiring:

Reason 1:
BB and BBB are quite similar in the storyline and having said that BB is neither as funny nor entertaining as BBB.

Reason 2:
Although BB was funny however it qualifies as a good film gone shoddily or should I say awkward. If you were not to compare BB with BBB, this film is definitely a decent movie to catch this weekend. But, the problem is, if youve watched BBB, you automatically tend to compare.

Reason 3:
Theres too much of Punjabi in the film and it seriously drove me crazy. I understand the film is shot in the backdrop of Punjab, but you cant expect everybody watching the film to understand the language.

The romance, colorful weddings and all the dinchak moments make the first half enjoyable. The disappointment comes in to picture from the first minute of second half continues throughout until the last minute. If theres one person who deserves to be applauded in the entire cast then it definitely has to be Pulkit Sharma, the hero. He earnestly portrays every emotion with lot of maturity and also succeeds in being comical.

Direction is haphazard and immature. The director struggles hard to make you laugh by throwing porn angle in the story, which by the way only backfires and makes the effort futile. Music by Raghav Sachar is passable.

In one line; Bittoo Boss aint the Boss.
