Fukrey is the story of four restless and hapless souls, running after their individual desires, brought together by one dream, which turns their not so simple life upside down.

“Fukrey is funny and lighthearted with a good cast and competent scripting. One time watch.”

Fukrey is another addition to the Delhi based films that aims at replicating the success of Delhi belly. It is director Mrigdeep Singh Lamba's second film after teen thay bhai which I have not seen. It is also the second film of Ali Fazal (always kabhi kabhi) and Pulkit Samrat ( bittoo boss). Since their first film didn't deliver much these three must be having high hopes on this film to strike at the box office. I am afraid that's not going to happen.

Hunny ( Pulkit Samrat) and choocha ( Varun Sharma) are desperate to pass out of their school so that they can enter college which is like a wonderland to them. Zafar ( Ali Fazal) is a failed musician struggling to make it big. Lali ( Manoj Singh) wants to enter the same college as his girlfriend but before that he has to pass in economics. Their lives intersect when they land up at Bholi Punjaban ( Richa Chadda) door's with a get rich quick scheme that involves Choocha's dreams decoded by Hunny that gets them a number which can win a lottery. What happens next?

The best part about fukrey is its casting. It's got a nice bunch of likeable actors together including my favorite Pankaj Tripathi who can make any dull scene looks delicious. Sadly, his track is sidelined after a point. Then there is Richa Chaddha playing a loud mouth don with an attitude.

The film spends most of its screen time in setting up its character rather than focusing on the story which again is nothing much to begin with. So, if you don't like the characters or the actors playing it this film will bore you. Pulkit Sharma and newcomer Varun Sharma gets the meatiest roles amongst the four. Ali Fazal is wasted and Manoj Singh displays the same earnestness that he has shown in all his earlier films.

Word of mouth - Fukrey has likeable actors but an inconsistent script.
