“Predictable story, substandard performances and dearth of thrills and chills turn Shiney Ahuja’s latest horror flick Ghost into an unintentional comedy. A must skip!”

I spent the year 2010 writing a horror movie. After several rewrites I kept it aside. Then, in 2011 I read it again and since then it is lying in an imaginary dustbin. Wish most of the writers/directors do the same. They are making a joke of the genre I grew up on and still love with all my fearful heart.

Whats it about? - Suhani(Sayali Bhagat)enters a city hospital wearing a tight dress that shows off her assets. Its her first day at work. Shes a doctor. And as in all horror movies she starts seeing things and hearing things. A spate of heart popping murders begins. We know that a female ghost is killing these people sometimes doing acrobatic movements on walls, floors etc. Enters Vijay (Shiney Ahuja), a detective who owns a Merc and lives in a palatial bunglow. He along with the help of Sayali will solve the mystery of this killer ghost.

Should you watch it? No.

Why? A police officer tells Shiney prepare yourself for what you are about to see. I felt like the director is speaking to me and took that as a clear warning. At regular intervals in the movie I was with a bhaad mein gaya bhoot expression on my face. Like BMGB because instead of investigating Shiney and Sayali are spending time at what looks like Lavassa, on a motorboat that looks straight out of Venice. BMGB, the focus shifts to Shiney discovering that he has retrograde amnesia. BMGB, why was the surname of Mary beeped? My guess is that its because its Magadelene. But the one that takes the cake and the entire bakery is an Ardhnareshwara (half Jesus Christ, half Satan). Christ has a dove sitting on his shoulder and Satan has an Owl on his. This single image will haunt me for the rest of my life. This is the 2nd comedy film of the year after Players.

Final Few Words: Ghost is a perfect stress buster. It is like watching India TV.

Ticket Meter: Not worth going to the theatre but definitely worth home viewing with a bunch of drunk friends.
