Jackpot is a fast-paced roller coaster comedy thriller full jhol film, set in the world of casino boats and gambling in Goa.

“Jackpot has convoluted writing and bad acting which even Naseeruddin Shah can't save. While the film is shot well, it is mostly boring and tedious. Skip it.”

Jackpot in set in Goa and like the susegaad state its script is in a forever susegaad mode. The only saving grace is that thankfully director Kaizad Gustad keeps the length at less than 2 hrs.

Francis (Sachin Joshi) Maya (Sunny Leone) and Boss (Naseeruddin Shah) plan a con together that starts off by the winning of a jackpot prize of 5 crores. Delving any further into the plot is as confusing as the narrative of the film.

Every time Nasseruddin Shah's films is up for release he says that he wants to stop acting in films then, he goes and acts in films like these in which he hams it up. I recently saw him do a reading of Manto's story, which was fabulous and then when I see him in this film, I feel like he is two different people in one.

To add to the hamming fiesta there is Makrand Deshpande, minus the trademark mop of hair which rests on Naseeruddin Shah's head in the form of hideous wig.

The less said about Sachin Joshi and Sunny Leone the better. They are a perfect fit for each other. Two non actors, who are trying hard to act.

Kaizad Gustad who became the poster of boy of new age cinema that is now called Indie, has lost the audaciousness that was seen in Bombay Boys and Boom. Here, it appears that he has made this film to project Sachin Joshi as a cool dude.

The only person who has done justice to his job is the DOP Artur Zurawaski. He shoots the rain drenched Goa beautifully.

Word of mouth - A con film in which the only person conned is the one who is watching it.

Rating - * ½ (Painful)

Ticket Meter - Not worth a theatre visit.
