Kadvi Hava is less on the effect of climate change on the land scape, more on rural indebtedness. The locale is a helmet in the barren ravines of the interiors of mid Bharat.Agriculture is not the primary occupation. The scanty populated inhabitants are indebted to a grammin bank. This bank lends money with a group standing collateral. In simple words it means should a debtor failti discharge one's debt, the other members are responsible to repay. The indebtedness keeps on mounting.Infact the debt keeps in passing from one generation to another.Suicides cause more distress. A family consisting of a blind grannie Hedu( Sanjay Mushra),his son Mukund ( Bhupinder Singh), her daughter-in-law Parvati( Tillotama Shome) ,with their two daughters is the proxy for one such family which is below poverty line plus debted. The bank's vasooli agent Gunu Babu aka Yamdoot ( Ranvir Shorey) is on the prowl as a vulture. He has bribed the blind to be an informer to enrol more into the indebted group. Misery continues all around. The subject is age old.Presentation is honest and realistic.Performances are good all around.Sanjay Mishra is outstanding.Ranvir Shorey is not far behind.Even Ekta Sawant ( as the school going girl Kuhu) and a buffalo( as Annapurna) mark their presence. What surprised this critic is that there's no mention of private money lenders keeping the rural folk indebted ,instead it's a grammin bank? The insensitivity of the populace to disregard the disability of a blind in the bank premises was baffling.Reference to draught and typhoons is only in the passing. Kadvi Hava is a festival movie.A must for the discerning audience.
