Disclaimer: the lead character Keymon is voiced by my brother Brian D'costa. Any kind of biased that appears in this review is unintentional and co incidental.

While I was waiting to get into the theatre to watch this film I saw a crowd of kids coming out of the theatre. I thought they must be coming out of the previous Keymon show but on enquiring I found out that they were coming out of SOTY. The empty hall during this film reaffirms my belief that the children in this city choose SOTY over Keymon.

Keymon is a popular character from a TV show called Keymon Ache. You need to be a hardcore Keymon fan to pay and watch him on the big screen. Two of them were spotted in the theatre.

In the film version Keymon (voiced by Brian D'costa) and Rohan go to Goa to meet Rohan's nani whose character is modeled on Usha Uthup but voiced by Meena Nahata. After an interesting adventure set up of them travelling to Goa and meeting Nani the film follows a predictable route of aliens kidnapping Nani. The film which until then was good fun slides into predictability with zero excitement level in terms of the adventure that it promised. The saving grace is the music that has songs by Pankaj Awashti and background by Sandesh Shandilya. The voices for Keymon and Nani are well done but the writing, animation and direction fails to make use of the characters it had on board.

Word of mouth - Keymon and Nani is fit for family viewing at home but only for the tiny tots.

Rating - 2.5 (Average)

Ticket meter - not worth a theatre visit. Good fun for home viewing.
