“Another entry to the list of 2011’s worst films! Kya Yahi Sach Hai is a long-drawn-out film that becomes unbearable after a point due to poor acting, terrible editing and lack of a script. Skip it at all costs!”

There are good-bad movies (like Don 2), then there are bad-bad movies and then there is THIS really bad-bad-bad-bad movie.

I won't pretend like I've done my reading and know all that much about YP Singh or the state of the police department in Maharashtra over the last few years. I also don't know much about corruption within the police department apart from the usual 'I want to avoid paying chalaan for talking on the phone' scenarios. This film is all about the above. It will teach you about the level of bribes, who pays who, who will do what to keep their seat as commissioner, etc etc etc. Really not my, or anybody else's in the theater (atleast from what I gathered), cup of tea.

The second the film starts, you know you've made the wrong decision. There is a loooong roll of credits throughout which you are shown the jawans marching and officer one two and three leaving their wives and getting into their jeeps and going somewhere. This took some 3-4 minutes. Editing was clearly not something these guys wanted to focus on. The film is long and dragged. For the first 40 minutes you are listening to a junior hawaldar telling our main man IPS officer why he will never take bribes again. The story is awful. You sit and get to look at a burnt woman for atleast 60 seconds. After the story ends, a good 40 minutes later (I need to emphasize on this), the officer and his wife both pledge to this junior level guy how they both will never accept bribes. It was supposed to be moving, but instead I laughed. The acting is below average, the dialogues out of place, the script is not crisp, and there is this strange orchestral sort of music that just doesn't stop throughout.

Silk Smita was right in the Dirty Picture when she said that all a movie really needs is entertainment * 3. This movie is no entertainment at all. If you need your knowledge on corruption I am sure turning your television on and listening to Anna speak will be more enlightening (and entertaining!) than sitting in for this film.

Skip it at all costs. If you do need a good cop-bad cop movie, watch Dabangg instead, because even though its bad, its that good kind of bad.
