“A halfheartedly written film that starts off well but in the course of time becomes predictable and boring. Zayed and Dia’s amateurish performances add to the list of glitches in LBZ. Give it a skip!”

Love, breakups Zindagi is Dia Mirza and Zayed Khans first foray into production and their enthusiasm at making a movie starring themselves shows in the length of the film.
Jay and Naina (Zayed and Dia) meet at a common friends wedding and become good friends. They of course have steady partners who we know will become exes at some point. The movie also follows the story of twice -divorced Govind who falls in love with the bridegrooms nearly 40 year old masi. Of course, there are meet ups and realizations and sad bits before everything gets sorted out.
The good part of the movie is the fact that the characters are not filmy but act pretty normally. The Panju wedding is also quite a homely affair with a sangeet song danced to the old hit dil behelta hai mera aap ke aajane se. The realistic portrayal of the characters makes it easy watching.
But that does not mean that we can keep watching the movie interminably. At two and a half hours the movie is too long. The story follows the characters too closely and at several places the editing is so choppy that you can almost see the editor snipping away at it in frustration. There are too many sequences with too much talk, a whole time wasting dog angle and some pointless songs. The story suffers from telling you too much about everything and converts what could have been a frothy romance into a yawn fest. The second half unravels really slowly and ends in such a stretched out fashion as to give your sprawled out body competition.
In the acting dept, Cyrus Sahukar as Govind takes top honours. He is the one guy who holds this movie together. I wish more time and energy had been spent on his romance with Tisca Chopra playing the older woman but then he is not the producer. He is funny, cute and gets all the laughs.HE is the one reason you can watch this movie. Zayed hams it badly. He has a likeable personality but then I dont have to take him home to meet my mom. Dia Mirza is a tad better than him. However, the romance does not work. The two producers look too much like good friends to generate any sparks between them.
The movie is peppered with special appearances from Shabana to SRK to Ritiesh. SRK should be carful how he looks in guest appearances specially just before a big release like Ra One. He looks dismantled and old as he does a blatant spot for Ddcor Furnishings.
Overall, I would give this movie a miss if I were you. It starts off well enough with the wedding and all but because of the very saggy script fails to hold your interest. Like lots of relationships that have gone on too long, its predictable and boring. Break up time.
