This film is another one in the genre of prison movies though it lacks the excitement of such type of films. The plot is about a young man Farhan who is crazy about singing and who is unfortunately sent to prison for life imprisonment on false charges of killing a local IAS officer.
The local higher ups decide to hold a music competition among the prisoners of jails of the state as a welfare measure . Each jail is required to form a music band. Farhan jumps at this opportunity to play music and he also has a hidden agenda. Diana works for an NGO involved in the improvement of the condition of prisoners in jails. The local authorities ask Diana to coordinate with the local jail for the formation of the band and supervise the practice of music.
Ronit Roy is the strict ,ruthless Jail warden who is not happy with this wefare development and also has a dislike for Farhan. He also has a feeling that this prisoner group is planning an escape. Inspite of all odds Farhan and his group put up a spirited performance and win the competition. Also he is acquitted of all charges since the witness who had testified against him has a change of heart and tells the real story.
Director Ranjit Tiwari has made an ordinary film with a highly predictive plot and stereotyped characters which we have seen in many films of this genre. There is the gang rivalry, the fights in the dining hall, the secret dicussion of escape plans and to top it all the cruel sadistic jail warden. Acting by all is satifactory from Farhan as the tormented young man, Ronit Roy as the jailor to Diana Penty, Rajesh Sharma , Deepak Doriyal, and finally with Ravi Kishan giving a good account as the minister.
In conclusion this movie is OK for a one time watch.
