“Mediocre performances and a plot lifted from several English chick flicks and TV serials. Luv Ka The End is nothing but 'time and money ka the end'.”
Disclaimer : The box office number indicates the approximate lifetime earnings of a film in India. Although it has been collated by extensive secondary research/ resources, we don’t guarantee its accuracy and assume no liability or responsibility for any errors or omissions. However it is sufficiently indicative but not exact figures of the box office performance of a film since release.
We are constantly living in the misconception that we can rehash bad content from Amreekan films and present it here to a gullible audience. These kinds of chick-flicks are quite the rage abroad, and are widely available for illegal downloads on the Internet. People would love an Indian version, they reasoned.
Abey dude, you have got it all wrong. People watch these films for the sex & the nudity. You can't show that in India, and you dont have good actors or writers to replace it with quality content. No wonder you are not going to pull in any audiences.
Rhea and her two friends (Moti and patli - I don't remember their names: typical stock characters) are best friends forever. Rhea has a boyfriend who wants to go all the way with her. When she is unable to go to the party, he hooks up with another girl. Rhea does some snooping around and finds out that the boy just wanted to have some fun (the snooping around was unnecessary, it seems: this is common knowledge) and earn points in an online babe-scoring website "Billionaire Boys Club".
First of all, the flick is totally lifted from a lot of English movies and Hindi TV Serials (The teenage romance types). The good girls and the bitchy girls always come in groups of three (like in a scene from Mean Girls). The seedy repulsive fat guy represents Seann William Scott from American Pie. The nerd, the gay closeted friend, behenji-turned-Mod Archana Puran Singh as mother. So cliched !!! Some credit, however goes to the lead guy for accepting to do the 'Mutton' song which was anyways an abhorring sensation for the eyes and ears (Ufff... those jiggly-wiggly hips are etched in my memory forever. Boys should never copy Shakira.)
All logic and common sense is thrown out of the window. The girl cannot make out with her boyfriend in the first place because she had to baby sit her grannie and sister. But she spends the entire night outside by bribing her sister. Wonder why she couldn't have thought of it before, and the film would never have happened. Later on, when the guy ties her to the bed, he spends too much timing gloating over it giving her ample time to free herself.
Total Time-waste, paisa-waste. Don't even watch such sitcoms on TV.
