Main Hoon Krishna is a part animation movie, the other part being a film about an orphan called Krishna who lives in an orphanage run by a benevolent Kantaben and her sidekick. The movie is very much like My friend Ganesha in that it also has an animated Krishna who befriends the child and gives him superpowers to fight all sorts of bad guys. There are 2-3 parts on Krishna's life that are totally animated in a stunted kind of way and which are totally unnecessary.
There is no particular story as such. The boy Krishna is angry with the God Krishna for making him a boy who no one will adopt since he has epilepsy. The God then becomes his friend. The rest is all episodic as he saves some kids from trouble, breaks up an adulterated milk gang etc. There is no thread running through the movie to hold it together making it boring after a while. The addition of bad songs doesn't help matters.
Juhi Chawla as Kantaben is pretty cute. She has that naivetxe9 about her that makes her look younger than heroines half her age. She is always a pleasure to watch. Katrina does a zany fight sequence and looks like she had fun. Hrithik in a guest appearance has to suddenly be part of a mythological when he sees the animated Krishna and falls to his knees. Quite the moment of the movie.
Take the kids if they are driving you up the wall. But don't blame me if they complain that the movie is boring.
