The bunch of guys dreading the side effects of love are back. Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 is the sequel to the immensely liked 2011 hit Pyaar Ka Punchnama. The film is directed by Luv Ranjan and retains two members of the original cast.

“Despite the similar premise, the new Punchnama makes sure to entertain!”

A run out while taking an attempt to second run, this film is quite not what you are expecting. If you have watched the original Pyaar Ka Punchnaama, the chances are that you might have a hard time gulping down this one. The story line is the same- relationship issues and how they basically mess up everything in our lives. Where most of us would agree about the fact that the issues which director has tried to raise in the film are pretty much common, their treatment has gone way too overboard.

Just like the original, this film also features around three couples who have different relationship dynamics. With Liquid and Chaudhary gone out of the scene, the trailer pretty much looked dicey and which was also substantiated in the film. Kartik Aryan (Gogo), Omkar Kapoor (Thakur) and Sunny Singh (Chauka/Sid) fall in love with Nusrat Bharucha (Chiku), Ishita Raj (Kusum) and Sonalli Seygall (Supriya) respectively and as one would expect, these are the worst kind of relationships one can imagine.

While one could still compare this film with its original, which had natural acting and typical day-to-day issues one faces in relationships, this film is relying too much upon overacting and drama which unfolds basically from the feminine side of the story. One is left wondering what exactly is wrong with these girls in the movie? Well, that's what I wondered, at least. I mean if all girls started behaving the way they do in this movie, then ummm... I would need three Disprins a day to deal with my sad little life. Can't blame the guys, you see.

Kartik Aryan has become a bit repetitive in his acting where his monologue this time has fewer punches and not as effortless as the earlier cult classic which he famously delivered. Sunny Singh as Chauka has pulled a good job, whereas Omkar Kapoor needs more efforts in acting effortlessly.

Why watch it? Because it still addresses many issues which we can relate to. Few scenes are really comic and downright hilarious. Music is peppy and can cheer you up if you are in a bad mood. And it all ends the same way all over again, So it is tried and tested.

Why not watch it? Because if you want to believe in sensible relationships, this might just not work for you. Also, sometimes the whole film relies way too heavily on its original despite working upon a different storyline.

Also, after watching it if you can relate to the guys, can put up with such dramatic overbearing women shown in the film (which exist in real life too, as I have been told) and also keep your calm while dealing with the nuisance they are, then you, dear Sire, are a total boyfriend/marriage material. Take A bow! For that, we would have to give it to the director. If we leave aside the overacting and too much hyping part, this movie can induce a giggle and laugh too.

Watch out for Chauka (Sid) and his subtle punches. You won't regret it!
