Seven assorted, uneducated, forever cursing, good for nothing down and out characters of old Delhi get together to look for hidden treasure in a local haveli. The plot had potential for developing into an engaging and riotous comedy but unfortunately this does not happen and the movie degenerates into a long drawn unending series of loud and not so amusing scenes. Granted that the characters are uneducated ruffians of old Delhi but that is hardly a reason for excessive profanity in the dialogue Apparently shot on actual locations the film gains from an authentic backdrop and some good fluid cinematography but the essence is missing. Talented actors like Manoj Bajpayee and Anupam Kher fail to raise comedy and land up overacting most of the time. A lot of noise is made and finally it turns out to be a case of much ado about nothing. Only Kay Kay Menon is convincing as the SHO and makes his character believable. Annu Kapoor does an interesting cameo. The climax is a very tame affair which is bound to confuse and disappoint viewers. How such crafty and clever characters fall for a false Godman who is mentally unstable will leave you flummoxed.
