Some women are really lucky and Divya Khosla Kumar is one of them. She gets her doting husband to shell out a lot of money so that she can direct a movie and also get a song to herself because you know like, I was a star and I have this great worked out body and it's my party I'll dance if I want to.

Sanam re was probably written on scraps of paper, which were then stuck together in a random sequence, much like you get to do in creative writing workshops. The result is a bizarre choppy tale that has no trajectory, follows no logic and seems to be created solely so that Mrs. Khosla Kumar can shoot in pretty locations and feel good about it.

So there is a self-centered man and two women and he pretends to love one to get a contract but the other is a childhood sweetheart. And then she has a heart disease and won't live and I don't know what happens in the end. I wasn't asleep (when you've had THAT much coffee to sit through a movie you are like a snake on a bed of nails) but I just didn't get it. Does he kill himself to donate his heart so that she can live and take photos of his senile grand dad? Couldn't he have killed the grand dad and given his heart? We could have got a dark story out of it at least.

A lot of the movie is set in some fairy tale type town with old cars and snow always falling elegantly. Then there is a whole surreal piece on a Yoga farm in the USA. This has some random people and they all say Baba rocks and play party games with footballs that have their names on it in order to find their soul mates and then strip a poor fat policeman. That's the humour bit in the film.

I can't stand Pulkit Samrat anyway and here he is insufferable. Yami Gautam is washed out (she has a heart condition after all) and Urvashi Rautela is all big bust and hair. There is zero chemistry between any of them (And Yami and Pulkit are supposed to be in love!) and the romantic dance sequences are unintentionally hilarious with weird poses. I got a few laughs there. Rishi Kapoor must have done this role in memory of Gulshan Kumar or something.

I don't know whom to blame for this travesty. The Director or the poor editor who has obviously taken yards of footage and salvaged scenes and pieced them together to make some semblance of a movie.

Divya Kumar should probably master home videos first before trying her hand at bigger things. Or since she us so rich pay us to see her movies.
