Distressingly bad. That's one way to describe Santa Banta Pvt Ltd. It's a laughable excuse for a movie that's made even more disappointing by the fact it has a good cast. The usually dependable Boman Irani can do nothing to salvage this utter mess of a film. Vir Das even less so. Santa Banta Pvt Ltd could viewed as a success if you consider it's aim may have been to kill Santa Banta jokes, because anyone who views this movie is going to be left with a bad taste in their mouth.
The ambassador to Fiji has been kidnapped. This sends India's investigative agencies into a whirlwind. They respond by sending two country bumpkins, Santa & Banta to his rescue. Contrary to the audience' expectations, nothing goes according to plan and the twosome find themselves in a dangerous mix of gangsters, femme fatales and competing spies. That's pretty much all there is to it.
Santa Banta Pvt Ltd fails to reach the minimum requirement set by even the most brainless comedies. There is no positive that can be taken from this wasted couple of hours. The acting, despite its cast is poor. The characters are laughably one dimensional and their dialogues poor. Stale jokes just serve as the rotten cherry on top of this sundae made of poop.
