Dirty Picture is a triumph in commercial and cinematic excellence. And many rounds of congratulations are in order, particularly for the film's leading lady, the director, the producer and last but not the least the film's art director.

The writer of the film is to be applauded too as he has not only managed to deliver the essence of Silk Smitha in substance but also achieved poetic brilliance in the execution of the screenplay and dialogue. Of course there is an OD of one liners but you are willing to forgive them their silky smoothness.

Vidya Balan has arrived and all those size zeroes better watch out. She is sensuous, soulful and so uninhibited in her oodles of talent that it's inspiring to watch. Naseruddin Shah is a powerhouse and his comic timing is something that hasn't been explored much. He shines given that there is a lot of sheen around him. Emraan Hashmi improves with each film and good directors bring that out in him. Sadly Tushar Kapoor is not one such actor but atleast you don't want to kill him for almost ruining a perfect score card.

Director Milan Luthria joins the rank of filmmakers like Raju Hirani and Imtiaz Ali for striking the perfect balance between realism and commercial escapism. And yes, the music and background score of the film is already thumping away and you fell its beat while watching the film.

Dirty Picture runs a tad too long but you never ever get bored. You just respect the fact that someone actually lived this treacherous, lengthy trial of a life with so much oomph and aplomb. Go for it because I m going down and dirty for seconds. 4 stars
