Tutak Tutak Tutiya is simple light hearted comedy that's not half bad. It's overly simplistic plot has a certain charm going for it that isn't too common in Bollywood these days. It's not all rainbows and unicorns, however, as after 3/4th's of its duration, the movie becomes into a drama, almost completely abandoning it's horror-comedy origins.
Prabhu Deva wants a well educated, english speaking wife who's got a modern outlook on life. What he settles for is a traditional desi biwi (Tamannaah) who takes care of the house, but is demure and for, rather tame. He should've been careful about what he wished for, because his wife gets possessed by a spirit. This particular spirit is the remnant of a wannabe actress who couldn't make it big in the film industry. Now Prabhu has a real problem on his hands, rather than the shallow one he'd constructed for himself.
TTT simplicity has a lot going for it. It has no pretensions about what it is and isn't trying to push an agenda. That alone makes for a refreshing change these days from the other films bollywood is putting out. Back that up with solid performances by the two leads and the side cast, and you've got a movie that makes for a decent one time watch.
