Verdict - There's a reason this film is titled Bank Chor and yes there is a lot of pun.

You know I can understand the senseless and poor script selection by Berozgar Bollywood actors but how do producers ever decide to invest their money in such scripts? Could be because of A) They were drunk, B) They had some extra bucks to waste or C) they were under some serious Voodoo magic by film’s writers. Let’s not forget the film is titled “Bank Chor”.

The movie starts with a Baba who enters a bank. he film narrates the story of three amateur bank robbers, Champak (Riteish), Genda (Vikram Thapa) and Gulab (Bhuvan Arora), who plan a theft at the wrong time and cop Amjad Khan (Vivek), who is here to save the bank. This shallow heist features, three stupid robbers, a diligent constipated looking cop, a pretty reporter and a corrupt minister.Only thing this film did not feature, is a story.

Cringy jokes, poor plotline, either the writers of this movie had some good whiskey or they thought all their audience would be coming from a bar’s happy hour session. The grotty writing and flimsy jokes make you feel sick in your stomach. While the robbers regret the robbery in bank, we regret the money we paid for our tickets. The trailer of this film gives away too much, just how poorly its trailer is constructed gives a you a good reason not to watch this movie.

Remember when Ritesh Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi starred together in a disaster called Masti? Well Bank Chor is their disaster 2.0. Throughout the film, Deshmukh delivers rather a convincing performance and as a comedy actor he is potential overloaded, only if could select some good scripts. When was the last time Vivek Oberoi had a good movie? Probably the 2000s I think. You take what you get, no questions asked. And Bank Chor is just the charity food for Vivek Oberoi’s ill- fed actor’s stomach.

The first half of this movie is filled with mundane jokes that will make you question your existence. Relatively, the second half is much faster but only enters the scope of “Let this movie be over soon!” My advice would be, if you’re looking for a comedy fluff over a weekend, read some reviews and watch some trailers. I betcha you can watch this movie after a month of it’s release on television.

You can see people walking out of the theatres and blurting out the real “Bank Chor” that’s how much of a beset it was. As a comedy lover, I hate the degrading level of comedy in 2017. Neverthless I still see  a lot of potential in Bank Chor’s performers, Ritesh Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Sahil Vaid. I hope we expect some fair selection of movies next  time.

Final verdict, do not watch this movie and waste your money on this poor comedy. There are better things you can do on your weekend. Alas! Let me just say Bank Chor was just Bank Chor, with lots and lots of pun intended.

    A low from Y- Films.

Sometimes one wonders why stupid films ( like the one under review) are released in so many screens .It's perhaps some producers have deep pockets more
