Verdict - Half Girlfriend isn't the only half thing in the movie, you might see other things half as well.
'Half Girlfriend' is based on the novel by the famous name of the famous writer Chetan Bhagat. The book came in 2014. So, there is an estimate that most people have read it. It is also true that this novel cannot be said to be Chetan's best book so far. Therefore, the challenges for 'Aashiqui 2' and 'A Villain' Fame Mohit Suri are increased. He wants to give the book's pages the excitement of celluloid cinema and wanted to give it a bigger than life touch in it.
Imagine, a boy who is familiar to English up till 'yes' and 'no' and ahead of the 'excuse me' is limited. In his life there comes a girl whose ways are such, as if imported just from the UK. Both of them gets similar interest which is love for baksetball and music. Madhav is initially attracted to Riya, but later he begins to love her.
When the film is moves forward, both Madhav and the audience gets annoyed with the same thing. And that is Riya's 'Commitment Phobia'. She wants to run on the line 'more than a friend but less than girlfriend'. While it is beyond comprehension and as you watch it further you find yourself far away from the character Riya played by Sharaddha Kapoor.
Now lets return on Madhav , from Patna to New York he goes after her. Like a crooked stalke. Even in our daily life, our society lays up such a stalker.
The first part of the film goes flowing like the wind blows. But after the interval the film gets stuck. Hero's face always has a sense of guilt. Arjun is a very honest actor, but in his mannerisms, movements, there is such urbanization that he does not fit as 'Bihari'. Shraddha is sweet, but there is less attraction.
The music of this film is good. It can be said that alll the songs were already in the playlist of many people before the release of the film.
Overall, half-girlfriend or boyfriend is such a personal, many of whom have faced in school and college or later. If there is a future, then there is more talk, but the question is, is it really that we want to live the memories associated with it again? I think,it depends on our mindset.
And this movie might take you to your past times. So go to your nearest theatre, enjoy the movie and relive some of your memories through this cinematic chemistry.
