Verdict - Epic third classiness !
Delhi Belly was Akshat Verma’s first movie attempt as a writer. He totally dashes his promise with Kaalakaandi. It is a going nowhere movie. Saif Ali Khan completes his triology of third class movies with this one – a phase that he started in 2017 with Rangoon. The man appears extremely stunted when it comes to choosing the right screenplays.
For those of you who have seen the trailer of Kaalakandi can save their money and time by not walking into the theatre. The trailer has 98% of the movie covered.
I am actually surprised that a sharp writer like Akshat Verma has written this some of the scenes of this movie particularly the last scene can put Rajnikant jokes to shame.
The director appears confused between making a intelligent philosophical movie and one which has pure entertainment motive and in the process dashes all hopes for either of the two objectives getting achieved.
Frankly this movie is just about 2% better than 1921 and I will not be surprised if 1921 ends up collecting more than this wannabe intelligent comedy movie because at least 1921 however shallow it is has a understandable story compared to this one.
The only relief is that Saif Ali is not a part of a love triangle in this one. Stay away from this pathetic apology of a movie and if you are really a Saif fan go watch Main Khiladi Tu Anari that one had more spunk and better written sub plots.
Zero star .
