Its one of those movies, who are excitingly appealing in a promo, shown on a completely different canvas which is much more inviting. Lesson learnt- Do NOT believe in promos. After the Ramayan-like seeming Rajneeti, Dholakia tries to project the same ol' political vibrations ongoing political tryst set up in the fairytale-like beautiful Kashmir. Lets face it, Kashmir has been spoilt by various projections, dreams and entitlements, and the movie was even slower and untrue to depict anything.
The story goes of a military intelligence officer, playes by Sanjay Dutt, on his way to Kashmir of 1989 to unveil and in search of of terrorist groups, as elections are near. Later we see fundamental and separatists leaders in a hullabalooof politics, power and attepts on his life. There is the usual love, played by Biapasha Basu, and everything gets deeper and messier not only in the plot, but also so in the movie. Sigh.
Well the movie is stereotypically hust okay. Dutt is droopy and and his body language is frayed by his age now aswell. Bipasha is too weird a choice for a Kashmiri girl, Kunal is sincere, whereas Anupam Ker is pretty much himself and powerful yet again. The movie misses out the vital real burning issue of Kashmir and is somehow mind-numbing and irritating. Music is lud, non-identifiable with Kashmir, or any other issue, though cinematography is decent. Why no?Its Kashmir!
Any, Bollywood lovers can survive this, or even like.
