Verdict - A bawdy movie that doesn't go beyond dirty jokes strung up on a thin story line and lots and lots of skin. Works for you? Go for it

First off, a confession. I am a total verbal prude. I don't like dirty jokes, double entendres etc. My reaction to such jokes range from mildly disgusting to singing to myself while plugging my ears. So Mastizaade is not exactly my kind of movie.

The movie predictably doesn't have much of a story. It's like a bare (sorry, nude is a better word) Christmas tree which gets decorated slowly over two hours with lots of bikini tops, hot pants, cleavage flouting dresses, hot fuchsia lipsticks, stilettoes and jokes about boobs, butts, 'andar bahar' etc.

To pass time I wrote down a few choice dialogues, which I can share with you here to help you decide whether you will enjoy this movie: Mere socket mein tera plug, soda soda ani goti pakda, banana ko zyaada der rakho toh sadne lagta hai.

Some of the other elements in the movie are: a gay guy who keeps chewing his lip and who got poked more than on FB, a guy in a wheel chair 'jo khada nahi ho sakta', a poor horse who almost gets abused and two men who sit across each other with their legs stretched out rubbing each others feet suggestively. You get the drift.

The cast has obviously had a ball making the movie. Tushar Kapoor and Vir Das live it up romancing Sunny Leone in a double role performed easily with a pair of pink- rimmed glasses. The others are Suresh Menon hamming it hugely as the lip chewing gay, Shaad Randhawa being funny mimicking everyone as the wheel chair guy, Asrani and Sushmita Mukherjee. Riteish Deshmukh gives his blessing to this caper in a short cameo role.

There are a few clever jokes that made me laugh. I don't understand why a movie has to stay at the spinal level. There is no rule that says a sex comedy cannot have both bawdy as well as clever jokes that take it to a more fun level. That it has to get stuck in one groove only limits the potential of not only the story but also some good comics like Vir Das who could have added some pretty good material to the proceedings.

Mastizaade is the kind of movie that will appeal to you if you laugh at Whatsapp forwards of this kind. The 'jokes' flow (Bad word) fst and furious and yes, there is plenty and more of skin show. If that's your idea of a good movie then you will be happy here. As for me, well, I will shake ( now, another bad word) my head in a resigned sort of way and go on to my next movie.
