Verdict - NH10 is not for the faint hearted! Gory fights, thrills, and Anushka's brave attempt at being Meera are the major highlights of the movie

You don't see movies like NH10 coming your way every day. You will be able to relate to the story if you've lived up north, or more specifically been to Gurgaon or Delhi. Road trips are not just about the one you've seen in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, rather, NH10 directly means that life is very fickle.

What's good about NH10 is the fact that it's yet another attempt to change the paradigm of Hindi cinema and move towards more true stories. NH10 revolves around a case of honour killing and a couple who fall prey to a gory battle when they try to intervene in the orthodox tradtions of the society.

It is a very well shot movie, mostly during night and dawn. If characters don't do justice to the film, the cinematography does! The background score is very overpowering at many places and could have been mellowed down to sync with the amazing frames.

Darshan Kumar and Neil Bhoopalam give the required momentum to the movie when badly needed. The mentally challenged man, and minimal screen time given to Darshan Kumar's wife signify that the ensemble cast is the backbone of a movie.

Anushka Sharma has delivered the most powerful performance of her career. You can see that the usually glamourous diva has toned herself down to justify the pain in her eyes in NH10. But, her lips are distracting in the most serious scenes of the film. What's empowering about NH10 is the fact that a woman shows the guts to face murderers and beats them to death.

The woman who steals the show in barely four scenes is veteran actress Deepti Naval who has the most powerful eyes and high pitch tone to silence all the people in the frame.

A long iron rod is the weapon for NH10, what a hammer was to Badlapur.

You should watch NH10 only if you have the heart to experience bloody fights and background score which hurts your ears (which is the requirement of the movie). It is not for the faint hearted who enjoy larger than life films and happy endings.

NH10 is a sad reminder that we are still living in times where voices suffer in silence. Director Navdeep Singh and Phantom Films have another feather in their cap to have attempted something new once again!
