Verdict - A must see for the aspiring couples.

    RibbonWatch trailerRelease date : November 03, 2017

Seldom do we get to see relatable film in the contemporary mileu.Ribbon belongs to this category.
Sahana Mehra( Kalki Koechlin),a corporate strategic analyst and Karan Verma( Sumeet Vyas),a civil engineer become parents of a daughter Aashi( Kierra Soni).None can afford to leave their jobs. Why? Because they aspire to lead a comfortable living standard despite spending Rs.15 k pm on the nanny ,return of the EMIs ,shopping at the mall and partying with friends.
Life continues smooth until Sahana gets demoted in her job and the daughter is seen to be an innocent victim of the ' bad touch'.
Tensions and blame game develop between the couple until the husband utters the ' seperation' word in frustration.
The pros side- The casting of the young couple is perfect. They are made for each other..aspiring,understanding and adjustable. Since the wife holds a managerial post she's empowered and the domineering partner.
    .Scripting is good.Content is relatable
.Director Raakhee Shandilya has sparks of going places. She has taken care of minor details of parenthood..The POCSO angle is handled sensitively.
The entire cast has performed well.
The cons- though the daughter is growing, the parents never age; the wife faces gender discrimination in the office space post maternity leave ; the hospital insists on cash being deposited for the ceasarian ( the fettish for cash continues despite focus on digital transactions for heavier amount).
Some observations - whose primacy prevails( husbands or wife) on going through the pregnancy or abortion? even literate and highly placed parents are reluctant to resort to legal recourse despite making lot of notice on sexual harrassment issues? the reluctant wife never gives a thought to parenthood through the surrogate route in order not to lose her job?
All in all Ribbon is one of the better films of the year.Should be seen by young aspiring couples with double incomes.
