Verdict - An excellent insight into The Mind Of A Married Man

Shaadi Ke Side EffectsWatch trailerRelease date : February 28, 2014

There was actually a HBO series by that name (The Mind Of A Married Man) and last night's film excursion reminded me of just that. Yes, some of us may find that portions of SKSE were premised on the same cliches; but they were OUR cliches and that is what is important.

So a young, 'urban' Double Income No Kids couple have a good thing going. The husband thinks the secret of his marriage is to be non confrontational and "apologize for both of us"; the wife has kept her husband on a Need To Know Basis when it comes to what she feels (and more important what her mother feels) about their relationship. Add to that a healthy dose of Strangers Meeting At A Bar fantasies and well they are set.

Until the side effects that is the morning after of their fantasy weekend at a hotel is there...and the two have to understand that the "best laid plans of mice and men"..well they do go awry.

For a change one cannot fault the performance of any of the cast. Stellar all of them.

However the true droolsworthy character in the film--and whom many of us will be dreaming of bringing back home is the Mary Poppins bai/ Mujhe Aunty Bulao home help played by Ila Arun. Like cats with a mouse, I think the writers (and the director) have been very cruel in doing khilwad with the emotions of many a harried mom...sigh! hamare sapno ki home help is out there somewhere and SKSE just showed us a glimpse of her.

    I will thoroughly recommend SKSE.

Shaadi and kids perhaps not so much.
