With the weekend up for new releases, the movie Singham is all set to scorch the screen with its best potential. Director Rohit Shetty casts Ajay Devgn, Kajal Agarwal, Prakash Raj, Sonali Kulkarni and Ashok Saraf in the flick and comes with the best he could muster after his hit Golmaal 3. Ajay Devgan dons the act of Goan Chulbul Pandey who takes over the system in the fight to erase corruption from the town. Unlucky us that this is fiction and no such act do not work in real life. What an Ajay Devgan film promises is the action packed movie in the role of Bajirao Singham who does stunts, jumps and hits a hard punch, breaks a baddies forehead with his palm and even spins bad men with full force.

Bollywood adaptation of similar titled Tamil movie SINGHAM starring Suriya the movie dreams to make similar impact up north. An honest cop, posted in the village of Shivgad on the border of Maharashtra-Goa the protagonist stands on his principles and runs his life on them. The village remains in peace till the character of criminal and politician Jaykant Shikre played by Prakash Raj comes in. with the help of his political connections, Jaykant gets Singham transferred on his will and then strikes to turn his life p and down.

This insipid film directed by Rohit Shetty though a bit week fails to deliver at the points it needed to. Can be said as an action drama with little romantic interlude for the audience to keep them interested till they can is just a failing act. What the director is famous for is the trademark GOLMAAL type humor which we get to see at times but then the action movie Singham seems to be a fight between two characters on their bid to finish first and outdo each other. All in all a good movie for those who have nothing better to do this weekend.
