Luv Ranjan has created a popcorn comedy masterpiece. There have been directors who derive the best in a certain actor. Raj Kumar Santoshi could do that to Sunny Deol. Yash Chopra to Amitabh. David Dhawan to Govinda. Neeraj Pandey to Akshay Kumar and now it is Luv Ranjan who just knows how to uncork the screen persona of Kartik Aryan.

The young man has truck loads of screen presence and not just monologues he works on super nano second comic timing, something we saw in Govinda when he hit that purple patch of number one series in the 1990s. A special mention here for Sunny Singh as Titu. Like in those David Dhawan made Govinda comedies where Kadar Khan would act as the perfect foil to Govinda. Sunny Singh’s confused under played Titu helps Kartik’s Sonu big time.

Alok Nath as Ghaseeta is one show stopper performance. His one liners and scowling cynical facial expressions are a proof how Bollywood has wasted him on those low calory vegetarian babuji roles. Luv Ranjan gave him a proper shady grandpa role and Alok Nath has dug his teeth into the job like a hungry ferocious line. His comrade lallu played by Virendra Saxena is another note worthy performance.

To the credit of Luv Ranjan every character in this movie fits like a perfect nut into a well oiled race car. Even a small bit role of Babu the servant create rocking impact.

This should make us notice what remains the basic point about why Sonu ke Titu ki Sweety is such a epic 4th gear entertainer , it has a screenplay which makes no bones about what kind of a movie it is. The director’s passion as a comedy story teller has rubbed on every actor and the result shows.

The flavour of delhi, songs and acting moments all ingredients are perfect.

Go watch this one, very rarely does a sincere director in Bollywood rises above the narrow minded shackles of ideology, political correctness and intellectual bullshitting to deliver a super entertaining comic gem like this one.

Just don’t miss this laugh riot it will make you forget a lot of your daily miseries.
