Tees Maar KhanWatch trailerRelease date : December 24, 2010

Farah Khan was seen thanking Amir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani for not having a release around December this year. She needs to be more than just thankfull, for if they had, TMK wudve been a worse washout than it already is.

There is something quite amiss from this latest Farah Khan caper, that one cant exactly put a finger on. Something there is definitely, that stops TMK from being a classic comedy Farah Khan's last two flicks were. Is it a lack of story? Or is it Akshay's jinxed luck of late? Or is it the missing SR-Khan from TMK? Am yet to figure out why i ended up being left high and dry after watching TMK.

Akshay is a conman, who stages an elaborate con of trying to shoot a film but is actually planning the biggest heist ever. Akshaye plays a despo hero dying to win an oscar, while Katrina is a wannabe starlet dying to act. With an old hollywood film After The Fox raped to make a script, and Farah's genius almost missing, we have a hall packed with an audience dying to get out. This pretty much sums up TMK.

What could have been a hillarious laughathon is wasted by scriptwriter Shirish Kunder. The story plods through most parts. The comedy is forced, leaving it for the actors to ham it up and make things worse.

Akshay is his usual loud garish self. Katrina sizzles in the songs and fizzles for rest of the film, Akshaye, an obviously better actor at comedy, is wasted. The side characters, who always have been the best thing about a Farah film, are surprisingly ineffective.

That leaves us with Farah Khan, the Manmohan Desai of our times. She is in her element with the superb dances and song. Vishal Shekhar impress. But this one time, Farah seems lost with the plot. The ingenuity and cunning spoofery is missing in TMK.

Does that mean its a terribly unwatchable film? No. Its the best of Akshay in recent times. The film has its fun moments, far and between, and Sheila ki jawani is worth every penny spent.

Yet, one expected a lot more from Farah Khan. After OSO and Main hu Naa, TMK falls flat. Watch it though, for there's nothing much to do otherwise at the cinemas this weekend.
