    Tere Naal Like Ho Gaya

Tujhe Meri Kasam ke apaar safalta (interiors of Maharashtra mein) ke baad Riteish D. and Genelia are back together after 9 years. Mandeep Kumar makes his Hindi film debut with this one within a year of his Punjabi film debut. The trailer pitched it is a loud comedy thankfully it is not that loud.

Whats it about? Ritesh is an auto rickshaw driver working for Genelias father played by Tinnu Anand. One day a drunken Riteish lands up at his bosss house asking for his 60,000/- which he had saved, which thanks to Tinnu Anand is gone. Genelia (in yet another bubbly role) uses this opportunity and kidnaps herself. Now, both of them are on the run and obviously love happens but a funny conflict awaits them

How is it? An easy watch.

Why? Mandeep Kumar has tried to maintain a very clean tone to the film so that it can cater to the family audiences. The humor and dialogues works well for the film. Though I am not a fan of Genelia here her bubbly approach to acting works in parts. Riteish Deshmukh lets Genelia steal most of the scenes while he underplays his role and doesnt go overboard even in the comic scenes. For a change even Om Puri was fun to watch. The love story between the leads reminded me of films which Kumar Gaurav did in the early 80s. Also Sachin Jigars breezy music helps and it blends with the flow of the film.

Final few words Tere naal love ho gaya is a Sooraj Barjatya film in disguise. A little too sweet but, still watchable.
