Aamir may become brand ambassador of Maharashtras de-addiction campaign

If reports are to be believed then the Maharashtra Government has approached Bollywood’s revolutionary actor Aamir Khan to be the brand ambassador of its de-addiction campaign. The actor, who had created waves in the country with his reality showSatyamev Jayatewhich dealt with grave social issues, however is still to respond to the state government’s offer. Maharashtra's Minister for Social Justice Shivajirao Moghe confirmed the news saying, the state is hopeful of his response, but would approach other movie stars also. He informed that the department has also instituted cash awards for those promoting anti-addiction through plays, articles, news reports and awareness campaigns. "Thousands of families are ruined because of liquor addiction, but during the few years, there has been no great literary work, or movie or play on the subject. I believe more that a play, a work of art or literature can motivate people to give up addiction, more than the law," Moghe said.
