Anjali Menon directed a short movie 'Happy Journey' for an anthology film directed by famous director Ranjith and was lauded for the film. Her directorial debut was Manjadikuru with Prithviraj in the lead role. This movie was critically well acclaimed and accepted by the audience. Her next venture was as a writer for the movie Ustaad Hotel, which was directed by Anwar Rasheed. She got the National Award for the Best Dialogue Writer and the film was chosen as the Best Popular Film. Then she directed Banglore Days which had an ensemble cast of all young stars and the movie became a blockbuster, playing over four months in theaters.
