Shyamaprasad is considered one of the most brilliant film makers in the Malayalam film industry. Three of his movies namely, Agnisakhshi, Akale and Ore Kadal won national award for best feature film in Malayalam. His movie Ritu was received equally well by masala movie audiences as well as lovers of off-beat cinema. Film critics have rated it highly for its novel concept, excellent music and direction.
