    The Indian women's football team, which touched down in Yangon, Myanmar, on Sunday (July 7) night, will play two friendlies against the hosts. India will be playing a higher-ranked opponent in their second straight FIFA women's international match window. While Myanmar is ranked 54th in the world, India is ranked 67th. Prior to this, on May 31 and June 4, in Tashkent, the Blue Tigresses had played 48th-ranked Uzbekistan, losing 0-3 and drawing 0-0, respectively. 

    The first game will be on Tuesday (July 9, 2024), at the Thuwunna Stadium at 3:00 PM IST. Indian fans can watch the match live on the Pyone Play YouTube Channel. There will be no TV or OTT streaming for this game.

    Talking about the Blue Tigresses, with 29 players, the women began their preparations at the AIFF National Centre of Excellence in Kolkata on June 26. On Saturday, coach Chaoba finalized a 23-member squad for the Myanmar tour.

    In fact, India is winless in all five of their meetings with Myanmar so far. They lost four and drew the most recent one 3-3 in the AFC Women's Olympic Qualifiers in Mandalay in 2019. Prior to that, India suffered defeats in the AFC Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers (2013), AFC Women's Olympic Qualifiers (2015, 2018), and the Gold Cup (2019).

    Talking about Myanmar, they have not competed since the September Asian Games in China. They lost against the Philippines (0-3) and Korea Republic (0-3) and were eliminated from the group stage. Their lone victory (1-0) came against Hong Kong. Before that, Myanmar placed second in the Southeast Asian Games behind Vietnam.
