“A brilliantly written script which is enforced by amazing acting and great chemistry between Tatum and Hill. The movie will leave you in splits. Don't miss it!”

Let me tell you right off the bat that 21 Jump Street is hilarious. It is intelligent, irreverent and surprisingly very very good. The idea sounds bad on paper; a rehash of a TV series from the 80s that helped springboard Johnny Depp's career. Nah! In all probability it could have been just another example of Hollywood trying to cash in on a franchise and ending up making a bad film. But its not the case here.
The story is about two rookie cops who get transferred into an undercover programme trying to expose the drug ring in high schools. Prior to being in the squad, the two were sworn enemies in high school by virtue of the fact that one was a nerd and the other a popular jock. However when they re-enter high school, their roles get reversed and both learn to respect the other side. The story has many layers going for it. While on one level, its a typical high school film, it also works well as a buddy movie and a fantastic crime comedy. There are a lot of references and spoofs with a liberal dosage of gay/dick jokes. So mind you, the comedy is not for the faint-hearted. But like it or not, the humor will eventually get to you and before long you would be cracking up just like the dope heads in the film.
Jonah Hill as the nerd in high school turned stud the second time round is becoming a part of those rare breed of actors that work well in an Oscar-nominated role like Moneyball and do equal justice to a screwball comedy like 21 Jump Street. He has an affable quality reminiscent of Jack Black that helps him be likeable in every character he plays. Channing Tatum as his partner is quite the high school jock and seems tailor-made for the role. The chemistry between the two is crackling to say the least. However Ice Cube as the pair's supervisor Dickhead really steals the show. His abusive rants and phallic jokes keep you in splits throughout. You really never know if he making the mickey out of the two boys or the entire audience.
