Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey) is told that he has just 30 days to get his affairs in order. In other words, he has been tested positive for HIV. But Ron is a rodeo, and he refuses to accept his fate lying down. Thus begins an inspiring and moving journey, of Ron's fight back against death that is knocking on his door desperately. In doing so, he ends up achieving something much larger than he ever expected.

If I could give you two reasons to watch this film, it would be Mathew McConaughey and Jared Leto. In Ron, director Jean-Marc Valle gives us a character that is not looking for sympathy, is far off from self pitying and inspires even without saying out loud that look at my life and gets inspired. Ron will resonate with everyone who have had life knock them down but, they have dusted themselves up and looked into the eyes of life and said " come on, hit me again"

Matthew McConaughey is on a roll for the past few years. He shines even in small cameo in 'The Wolf of Wall Street'. But, with this film and the series 'True Detective' he has outshined everything he has done before. Just like his physical transformation in this film he has undergone tremendous transformation as an actor too. Supporting him shoulder to shoulder is Jared Leto. This performance will make you sit up and notice this actor, if you have not been aware of his potential.

What also stood out was the editing by Martin Pensa and director Jean-Marc Valle himself. The edit style doesn't make the film look boring, in spite of it being heavy on certain medical terms and repetitive scenes.

Word of mouth - Dallas Buyers Club is moving and inspiring without it trying to show off as being one. Here's to a life worth fighting for. Here's to the life of Ron Woodroof.
