Off late, Hollywood Animation movies are finding their feet in the Indian Cinema. 'Toy Story' series is a big success story and 'The Incredibles' has its own admirers. Experts were expecting similar feat from the "Despicable Me" especially with its 3-D version.

Nowadays, either in Hollywood or in Bollywood, there is dearth of story in mainstream cinema. Ironically, 'Despicable Me' could very well boast of a fine story. Though it is highly unlikely and imaginative one, but what else one could expect from an Animation film. The characters are well defined with voice makeovers perfectly suited to them. Kudos to the director duo of Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud who maintains a fine balance between an inanity of an animated character as well as underlying human emotion-quotient 'Despicable Me' succeeds in extracting intermittent giggles and smiley, thanks to few animated humor as well as some hilarious punch lines. Steve Carrel was in full form characterizing Dr. Gru and in process portrays his varied layers of emotions. The 3-D tricked scenes are awe-inspiring to say the least. But those are too few and far; wish there could be more of those which definitely would have added the fun and frolic of watching a 3-D flick.

Maverick Verdict: 'Despicable Me' is a joyful entertainer. It's a must watch for kids; adults would also not feel sorry for giving this 'roller-coaster-ride' a shot. Make it a family affair, dive deep into this dream-world and STAY IN PEACE !!
