You would not be mistaken on confusing this as Krrissh 4--the adventures of the newest avatar of Roshan, if you had watched Krrissh 3 earlier in the day. You would also not be mistaken for declaring it a far better project than the earlier instalment. Now this is a "hopes of the survival of our species resting on young man's shoulder" genre that I can bet my Diwali teen patti on.

So it has been 50 years since a brave commander went down fighting an "alleged" invasion by the life forms that live seema paar. The only hope now to stave off the next attack is the best of Earth's young being trained in an elite gurukul. Children are our future, nanha munnah rahi hoon desh ka sipahi hoon and all. Harrison Ford plays his Narayan Shankar well. The children alternate their time sitting in IIT-JEE coaching classes and watching Top Gun videos. Well that is what I took away from that sequence. Do expect a case for children getting more screen time, playing combat games on their Ipads if you want them to save the planet.

The creme de la creme of the gurukul go off to fight simulated battles in a space station, a little bit of Lord of The (Space) Flies meets Lakshya coming up.

All the time the clock ticking towards the final confrontation.

On any other day I would have unpacked the child soldier angle. Their case for young minds who will think of the unique battle strategy and the developing world's Hum kare tou character dheela hai. Sauce, gander, goose cooked. Or one of the character throwing a Salaam when a Khuda Hafiz would have been appropriate. But considering we have such slim pickings this Diwali weekend, I would recommend this as your Diwali outing.
